Happy Fall!
Fall is finally here! For some it means the end to a busy summer. Kids are back in school. Holidays are over and it's time to finish up harvesting the gardens and finish up preserving those special pickles and jams or chutneys that we savour over the cold winter months.
Fall is a time to enjoy "warming meals" like soups and stews, biscuits, casseroles, baked ham, and turkey dinners with family and friends. Don't forget the fresh apple pie or pumpkin muffins or cinnamon buns that fill your home with beautiful aromas, that warm you through and through on a cool rainy day.
Sipping on apple cider while heading out to a pumpkin patch or running through a corn maze this time of year can be quite magical. Memories will be made and cherished sometimes without you even realizing it.
When I think of Fall, I think of my family as it's been my favorite time of year other than Christmas. Thanksgiving has always been just that for me, a time to be thankful and count our blessings as so many people have so little. It's a time for sharing and caring and helping others out when you can.
I encourage you all to take time this Thanksgiving Weekend to focus on things in your life that you are grateful for. Whether it is your health, your family, your friends, your home, your job, your accomplishments, there is something no matter how small that you should be grateful for.
Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!
