Nan's Ceasar Salad
My mother-in-law used to make this recipe whenever we would visit and so I wanted to share this as a tribute to her as she has been gone for many years now. It's one of my family's favorites that she passed on to me.
For this salad recipe you will need a large head of romaine lettuce, 1 clove of garlic and about a 1/2 cup of freshly shredded parmesan cheese.
Ingredients for Dressing:
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp wine vinegar
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dry mustard
dash of worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp parmesan cheese
1 egg
Instructions:
Combine everything in a mason jar and shake well.
Croutons: Butter 3 slices of day old bread with garlic and butter and sprinkle with salt. Toast in oven at 300 degrees Farenheit for 20-25 minutes.
Wash and drain one head of romaine lettuce. Make sure it is chilled. Tear it into pieces place in a wooden salad bowl that has been rubbed with a fresh piece of garlic. Mix lettuce and croutons together and sprinkle with parmesan cheese and course black pepper. Add dressing over top and serve immediately.
